Aquatic Program Coordinator

Overview:
The Maine Municipal Association is seeking a dedicated Aquatic Program Coordinator to join our Parks, Recreation & Facilities Department. This part-time position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to community engagement through aquatic programming.
Key Responsibilities:
The Aquatic Program Coordinator will oversee the implementation and evaluation of aquatic classes and programs at our facilities. Responsibilities include:
- Promoting and ensuring water safety for all participants.
- Providing instruction and engaging directly with the public, including children and community groups.
- Collaborating with school staff and other aquatic personnel to enhance program delivery.
- Utilizing independent judgment and initiative in daily operations.
Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will possess:
- Strong communication skills and the ability to foster a safe and collaborative environment.
- Experience working with preschool children and youth.
Desired Training and Experience:
Applicants should have:
- Previous experience in aquatic activities and knowledge of child development.
- Familiarity with therapeutic recreation practices.
Special Requirements:
Certification in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and First Aid is mandatory. Candidates must maintain these certifications throughout their employment.
