Position Type: Permanent, part-time (30 hours/week)
The Maine Municipal Association is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Aquatic Program Coordinator to enhance community engagement through aquatic programs. This role is pivotal in the execution and oversight of aquatic classes and activities at our facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver and supervise aquatic programming, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for participants.
- Promote water safety and enforce regulations effectively.
- Engage with the public, educational staff, community organizations, and fellow aquatic personnel.
- Utilize independent judgment and initiative in daily operations.
Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will possess:
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
- Experience working with children and youth in aquatic settings.
Preferred Experience:
- Background in aquatic activities, including training and education.
- Understanding of human and child development principles.
- Knowledge or experience in therapeutic recreation.
Special Requirements:
- Certification in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, including CPR/AED/PR and First Aid.
- Maintenance of First Aid and CPR/AED certification is essential.
