Position Overview:

As a Construction Field Engineer, you will take on a pivotal role as a job-site leader, focusing on health and safety, ensuring the quality of reporting and workmanship, and guaranteeing that all engineering tasks are executed with professionalism and integrity.

In this role, you will be instrumental in the successful and timely delivery of complex multimillion-dollar heavy civil projects, including highways and bridges, from the pre-construction phase through to project completion.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote and uphold the company's Safety Policies and Procedures, ensuring adherence to our core value of "Safety First, In Everything We Do".
  • Collaborate in the development and execution of innovative construction strategies to enhance safety and productivity.
  • Develop comprehensive work plans to execute tasks efficiently and safely.
  • Participate in the creation of a project management plan, including the development of a detailed CPM schedule, managing updates and necessary narratives.
  • Assist in managing project budgets, manpower, equipment, subcontractors, and material resources.
  • Engage in daily operational decision-making and project management functions, ensuring accountability for project execution and financial results.
  • Support the procurement and management of subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely and compliant project delivery.
  • Track project production accuracy and document daily manhours, equipment usage, and quantities.
  • Assist in project engineering activities that align with company processes and contractual obligations.
  • Participate in the project submittal process to ensure timely review and approval of necessary documentation.
  • Contribute to quality control and assurance plans to ensure compliance and accurate documentation.
  • Provide technical support for construction planning and the development of efficient construction methods.
  • Assist in project close-out activities, including documentation and management of punch lists.
  • Facilitate the interpretation and dissemination of project documents for field crews.
  • Perform quantity calculations and assist in field surveying and project layout.
  • Engage in safety reviews and training sessions, ensuring a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

A four-year degree in engineering or construction management, or equivalent technical training combined with two years of relevant experience in heavy civil construction projects is required.

Preferred qualifications include at least two years of construction field experience on heavy civil or infrastructure projects, proficiency in Microsoft Office and BlueBeam, and familiarity with HCSS HeavyJob, Vista, CAD, and P6.

Candidates must be able to navigate all areas of a construction site in various climates and environments and possess a valid Driver's License.
