Role Summary

The Reception Coordinator will be responsible for welcoming patients, maintaining patient records, and assisting patients with their appointments at the facility.

Primary Duties:

  • Greet patients both in person and via phone with professionalism
  • Address inquiries and resolve issues promptly
  • Schedule appointments efficiently to enhance provider availability and patient satisfaction
  • Enter patient demographic and insurance details into the electronic medical records (EMR) system
  • Provide comfort to patients by addressing their concerns and queries
  • Update patient records to ensure accurate treatment information
  • Verify insurance eligibility and process payments
  • Inform clinical staff of patient arrivals
  • Oversee office supplies and equipment
  • Process payments and issue receipts
  • Assist patients during checkout and finalize their visits
  • Reconcile daily financial transactions
  • Count and document cash drawer contents
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned

Essential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred experience of 1+ years in a clinical or hospital setting
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, HIPAA compliance, and EMR systems
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Capability to work effectively under pressure and manage emergencies
  • Discretion in handling sensitive information
  • Excellent communication and computer skills
  • Commitment to healthcare excellence

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer usage
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 25 pounds
