Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Resident Engineer to join our team at BGE, Inc. as a Project Engineer for our Heavy Civil, Roadway, and Highway Construction Management projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a liaison between the contractor, engineering consulting team, inspection team, and program management team to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with TxDot specifications.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to identify potential issues and develop resolutions.
  • Lead contractor progress meetings and report project status to the program management team.
  • Recommend approval of pay estimates and review remaining contingency.
  • Coordinate with the program management team to ensure design engineer services are provided as needed.
  • Evaluate and track value engineering proposals and ensure SWPPP compliance.
  • Verify contractor-proposed lookahead schedules and review construction issues for resolution.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas.
  • 5-10 years of experience in heavy civil, roadway, and highway construction.
  • Knowledge of TxDot specs and proficiency in Site Manager.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
