Summary of Position
A Senior Electrical Engineer at X-Technologies holds a pivotal role in the development of hardware and software related to Electrical Systems. As a leader within the engineering team, you will oversee small groups of engineers in the evaluation of electrical circuits. The majority of your work will focus on electrical analysis, design, and testing, complemented by essential documentation tasks. This role demands a proactive individual ready to embrace increasing responsibilities. The Senior Engineer will guide, innovate, design, assess, test, and deliver various projects as required.
Travel: Up to 10%
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of engineers in the assessment of electrical circuits.
- Formulate a strategy to investigate aging concerns related to Circuit Card Assemblies.
- Dismantle avionics hardware to identify aging problems, component failure modes, and conduct thorough analyses. Ensure projects remain on track.
- Assess electrical hardware for reliability and performance.
- Design prototype testing fixtures, harnesses, and interface adapters for avionics equipment. Review and validate designs from team members.
- Create in-house electrical tests for circuit card components.
- Compile data, analyze results, and prepare comprehensive reports. Strong technical writing skills are essential for producing final engineering reports.
- Guide engineers in the creation of advanced Automated Test Stations for avionics hardware.
- Design Test Stations utilizing commercial off-the-shelf instrumentation.
- Develop Interface Test Adapters and cabling from Test Station to Unit Under Test. Validate designs from team members.
- Integrate hardware and troubleshoot software (LabVIEW) to ensure optimal functionality.
- Adapt to a fast-paced and demanding work environment.
- Generate high-quality materials including schematic diagrams, engineering documentation, Test Plans, and Engineering Reports.
- Exhibit excellent technical writing capabilities.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Required Experience:
- Over 10 years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in electrical hardware design and software development.
- Expertise in Analog and Digital Circuits.
- LabVIEW programming experience preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
- Proficient in using Digital Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies (AC & DC), and Function Generators.
Education Required:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or a higher engineering degree.
Certification Required: None required, but LabVIEW certification is advantageous.
Additional Highly Desired Skills:
- Proficiency in LabVIEW, CVI, C, C++.
- Familiarity with National Instruments products and AutoCAD.
- Previous experience in electrical troubleshooting within the military sector.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 25 lbs.
Security Clearance Required: None required, but must be eligible to obtain Secret Clearance.
