Position Overview:

The Pilot Plant Design and Fabrication Section is engaged in the innovative design, procurement, construction, and operational services for pilot plants, alongside the development of groundbreaking processes.


Key Responsibilities:

This role is essential in bolstering pilot plant operations for process innovation by broadening our technical service offerings to clients. The focus will be on enhancing utilization through support of major projects and exploring new business opportunities.

As a leader in training operations, procurement, and inventory management for process development and pilot plants, you will leverage your expertise in research technicalities. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Training operators and engineers to ensure optimal maintenance and operation of pilot plant facilities.
  • Fostering a culture of safety, compliance with waste disposal regulations, and adherence to ISO standards.

Daily and Monthly Duties:
  • Designing processes or unit operations for chemical or refinery systems.
  • Conducting research and process development in chemical, gas, and petroleum sectors.
  • Expanding expertise in areas such as decarbonization, pyrolysis, batch/CSTR kinetics, and biomass conversion.
  • Supporting ongoing projects through data analysis, mass and energy balance calculations, operator training, procedure formulation, and safety documentation.
  • Creating process simulations using commercial software, including input/output and process flow diagrams.
  • Providing technical guidance to engineers, technicians, and analysts.
  • Emphasizing proposal writing and publication efforts.
  • Engaging with vendors, clients, and operators to establish equipment setups and construct systems for new processes.
  • Promoting and securing new projects through mentorship and internal business development initiatives.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is required.

Experience in areas such as biomass conversion, biofuels, hydrotreating, carbon capture, carbon utilization, plastics recycling, pyrolysis, coking, distillation, electrolysis, and clean hydrogen is preferred, even at an entry-level.

Key skills include:

  • High attention to detail in calculations, design, and operational tasks.
  • Ability to develop process flow diagrams, instrumentation diagrams, and control strategies.
  • Strong communication skills for client interactions throughout project phases.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Hands-on experience in building processes and test systems is advantageous.
  • Direct experience in chemical engineering process development, including designing and executing experiments from lab to pilot scale.

A valid driver's license is mandatory.
