Job Overview - Ambulatory Patient Services Representative I
We are currently looking for an Ambulatory Patient Services Representative I to become a part of our dynamic team. This role is designed to provide essential support in a fast-paced environment, primarily focusing on front desk operations.

Position Objective:
The primary aim of this position is to ensure a positive and welcoming experience for patients and their families. The key responsibilities include:
  • Exceeding patient expectations in relation to front desk operations.
  • Communicating professionally and positively with patients, healthcare providers, and team members.
  • Supporting team efforts to achieve overall registration quality goals.

This role involves managing a high volume of patient interactions and requires flexibility in scheduling, including afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, adhering to established service standards.
  • Assist patients and guests with navigation throughout the facility.
  • Utilize electronic health records efficiently for various functions, including patient check-in and registration.
  • Handle financial transactions, including co-payments and outstanding balances, with accuracy.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of personal workspace and waiting areas.
  • Support clinic efficiency by managing patient check-out and scheduling for specialty departments.
  • Address special patient needs as requested and manage communication through the Clerical Pool In-basket.
  • Assist with the processing of time-sensitive patient documentation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience in a related field or six months of front desk experience.
  • One year of customer service experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Strong prioritization skills and ability to manage shifting priorities.
  • Consistent achievement of quality and productivity standards.
  • Familiarity with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous.
  • Associate Degree in Healthcare or Business is preferred, or two years of customer service experience in a similar environment.
  • Certification from relevant healthcare organizations is a plus.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) is preferred.
  • Understanding of medical terminology and insurance requirements.
  • Bilingual skills in English and another language are beneficial but not required.
