Patient Services Representative

As a Patient Access Coordinator at Optum, you will play a crucial role in enhancing patient experiences by facilitating their access to healthcare services. Your primary responsibilities will include welcoming patients, managing their registration process, and ensuring that all necessary information is accurately collected and entered into our electronic medical records system.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Greet and assist patients upon arrival.
2. Collect and verify demographic and insurance details.
3. Conduct patient check-ins and assist with necessary paperwork.
4. Guide patients to their respective appointments or procedures.
5. Support scheduling of additional appointments as required.
6. Verify eligibility and benefits information for various payers and interpret the results.
7. Obtain necessary signatures from patients.
8. Collect co-pays or deductibles and address inquiries regarding financial assistance programs.
9. Utilize available resources and tools to manage accounts effectively.
10. Assist patients in completing information request forms and submit them to the appropriate departments.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- At least 6 months of experience in customer service.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Availability to work 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday, starting between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM.
Preferred:
- Experience in revenue cycle management within a healthcare environment.
- General office experience.
