Hardware Asset Management Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Hardware Asset Management Engineer to join our team at the American Chemical Society. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for overseeing the lifecycle of all hardware assets, from procurement to disposal, ensuring they are efficiently used, accounted for, and properly documented throughout their lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lifecycle Management: Oversee the company's hardware asset management program, ensuring all IT equipment, including laptops, desktops, and other devices, are accurately tracked and maintained throughout their lifecycle.
  • ITAM Program: Develop and maintain processes to track and report on asset usage and performance, providing insights to management to inform decision-making. Provide guidance and support to other teams on asset management best practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Hardware Standards: Assess and maintain hardware standards for laptops, desktops, and computer peripherals. Test new models for compatibility in our environment.
  • Disposal: Manage the disposal and recycling of IT assets in accordance with environmental regulations and company policies. Manage asset retirement, data wiping, and equipment recycling processes.
  • Warranty Repair: Submit hardware warranty cases to OEM manufacturers for repair, tracking and identifying trends in hardware warranty requests.
  • Security and Risk Management: Collaborate with IT security teams to ensure that asset management practices align with cybersecurity protocols and data protection regulations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree: Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Experience: 3+ years in IT asset management
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of asset management tools and software, such as Ivanti Asset Manager or similar tools
  • Skills: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and adapt to changing priorities
  • Certification: Certification in IT Asset Management (CHAMP, CITAD)
