Manage new products through the new product development process and resolve field & production issues with existing products. Scope/Supervision and Interaction: This job does not have direct reports (no supervision of staff required). Interfaces with Product Management, Supply Chain, and Quality Departments. Essential Functions: Design and test electronic circuits for new products and revisions of existing products. Supervise board layouts and manage Bill of Materials. Find and approve alternate components. Manage and support product qualification testing. Create detailed documentation for new products. Develop test fixturing and procedures for manufacturing testing. Manage product compliance testing at external laboratories and analyze results. Provide general Engineering support to other departments. Qualifications: BS Degree in Electrical Engineering. Strong experience with electronics lab test equipment (oscilloscope, function generator, multimeter, etc.). Proven track record of electronics design & development. Ability to solder & rework SMD components under a microscope. Basic knowledge of embedded programming in C / C++. Excellent communication and writing skills. Quick learner and able to balance multiple tasks. Strong experience with PCB CAD tools (Candence Allegro & OrCAD preferred). Experience with UL 60730 family of standards a plus. Understanding of principles of refrigeration a plus.
