Position Overview:

Please note that Discover will not sponsor or transfer employment work visas for this role. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

The Marketing Product Owner for our Site and Mobile App will oversee the creation and implementation of marketing strategies that reach our customers through various digital channels. This role involves gathering, analyzing, and prioritizing campaign requirements while continuously seeking to enhance the efficiency of our marketing processes. You will forge strong partnerships with marketing operations, campaign managers, and product teams to ensure a seamless and valuable campaign experience for our customers.

As a Product Professional, you will play a pivotal role in delivering innovative solutions that enhance customer experiences, address their needs, and generate business value. Your leadership will guide the team in prioritizing tasks that deliver the greatest customer benefit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the product backlog, ensuring alignment with Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) while keeping it current. Document essential product information, including customer journey maps and technical specifications.
  • Ensure that product features and processes comply with Discover's regulatory, compliance, and risk management standards. Maintain high-quality standards, including timely security updates. Translate requirements into actionable use cases, agile stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Facilitate Agile methodologies, including sprints and retrospectives, while regularly updating the product backlog with the team.
  • Define comprehensive product requirements, ensuring clarity and consistency. Collaborate with Data stewards to implement necessary data quality controls.
  • Work closely with business technology to develop technical features that optimize system components and maintain infrastructure.
  • Manage project scope, deliverables, and timelines through effective visual communication techniques.
  • Contribute to the product vision by aligning customer solutions with business objectives, ensuring the delivery of a Minimum Viable Product (MVP).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support market entry strategies.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and ownership, empowering the product team to make informed decisions.
  • Engage with vendors and cross-functional partners to evaluate and enhance assigned products and programs.
  • Proactively manage and escalate risks and issues that may impact customers during daily operations.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in Product Management or Engineering within the Financial Services or Technology sectors, or a related field.
  • Alternatively, 6+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications

We would also appreciate:

  • Product Owner Agile Certification.
  • Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Adobe Target, and Adobe Workfront.

Compensation and Benefits:

The compensation for this position typically ranges between $100,000.00 to $139,000.00, with additional incentives as part of a competitive total compensation package. Factors influencing pay may include geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level.
