The Product Professional role involves maximizing the value of team efforts in creating products. Central to launching new products and driving innovation, Product Professionals focus on enhancing customer experience, meeting needs, and delivering business value. They lead the team in defining priorities for delivering customer value. Acting as servant leaders, they possess comprehensive job knowledge and support team members through coaching and mentorship. They organize team activities and delegate tasks, managing risks and escalating customer-related issues as part of their daily responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and prioritize the product backlog to achieve set Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), keeping it updated consistently. Maintain essential product documents like customer journey maps and technical specifications.
  • Ensure that product features and processes comply with Discover's regulatory, compliance, and risk management standards. Guarantee top quality standards, including implementing security measures not directly impacting customers. Articulate regulatory and contractual requirements into use cases, agile stories, and acceptance criteria. Validate user story acceptance criteria.
  • Lead Agile practices such as sprints, planning, execution, and retrospectives. Conduct regular meetings with the product team to update the backlog continuously.
  • Define functional and non-functional product requirements, ensuring coherence and comprehensiveness. Create and validate user story acceptance criteria. Implement suitable testing frameworks for product features. Collaborate with Data stewards to ensure data quality controls are in place.
  • Collaborate with the technology team to develop necessary technical features for continual system optimization and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Effectively manage project scope, deliverables, and timelines through visual storyboarding and complex information structuring.
  • Contribute to product development by aligning customer solutions with business objectives. Responsible for delivering a Minimum Viable Product (MVP).
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support go-to-market strategies.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and ownership within the product team by encouraging decision-making at the operational level.
  • Engage with vendors and cross-functional partners in evaluating and enhancing assigned products and programs.

Essential Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration and Management, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Product Management or Engineering, especially in Financial Services or Tech Industry, or related field
  • In the absence of a degree, at least 6 years of experience in Product Management or Engineering, particularly in Financial Services or Tech Industry, or related field

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience as a product owner with ServiceNow, focusing on Software Asset Configuration Management, Hardware Asset Management, Configuration Management Database, Discovery, etc.
  • Holder of Agile Certification – Certified Scrum Master or Scrum Product Owner

Compensation:

Base pay typically ranges between $100,000.00 to $139,000. Additional incentives may be offered as part of a competitive compensation package. Various factors like location, experience, education, and skill level can influence the compensation for this position.
