Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

This role is pivotal in overseeing the preventive maintenance and repair of aircraft, ensuring that all Amerijet planes adhere to stringent quality standards and safety protocols, making them flight-ready. The Manager of Line Maintenance is responsible for the continuous operation of line maintenance activities, guaranteeing a safe, compliant, and efficient airline operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the line maintenance operations in Miami.
  • Direct maintenance personnel to ensure timely and safe completion of all tasks, providing airworthy aircraft for scheduled flights. Organize personnel schedules to ensure adequate staffing for maintenance operations.
  • Assign mechanics for AOG (Aircraft on Ground) support and coverage at non-maintenance locations.
  • Oversee all maintenance activities within the team to ensure discipline, effective use of personnel, production quality, and cleanliness of the work environment.
  • Maintain a detailed log of all ongoing, completed, or pending work, ensuring proper hand-off procedures between shifts.
  • Verify that all personnel are qualified for their assigned maintenance tasks.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Control and Quality Control as necessary.
  • Establish work schedules for all team members to meet production needs while managing overtime and fatigue.
  • Ensure timely maintenance of all required records and reports.
  • Communicate any maintenance issues to Maintenance Control and down-line stations, providing detailed information to facilitate repairs.
  • Ensure high-quality work and proper documentation, making necessary corrections before job completion.
  • Accountable for the security and management of company assets.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Performance Standards:

  • Understand and adhere to company policies, procedures, and responsibilities as outlined in the General Maintenance Manual and General Operations Manual.
  • Act as a Safety Ambassador, promoting Amerijet's commitment to safety and supporting the Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Be familiar with and advocate for Amerijet's confidential reporting systems.
  • Comply with all relevant laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT), and company policies.
  • Consistently follow company and departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Exhibit professionalism in all interactions.
  • Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders.
  • Keep accurate and organized records.
  • Demonstrate regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Be flexible with work hours and available for on-call situations.
  • Maintain a professional appearance.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED, with college education preferred.
  • Must possess a valid FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings, specifically qualified on Boeing 767 with relevant certification and training records.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience as an aircraft maintenance technician, including at least three (3) years in a supervisory role on similar aircraft.
  • Ability to manage supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Strong decision-making skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in planning, assigning, and directing work objectives.
  • Capable of training and motivating team members.
  • Effective problem-solving and complaint resolution skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence.
  • Strong interpersonal and computer skills.
  • Able to interpret and communicate complex technical documents and diagrams.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a SIDA badge.
  • Legally authorized to work in the location of the position.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position involves direct supervision of staff and oversight of shift activities, including training for new team members.

Language Skills:

Effective interpersonal and communication skills are essential for collaboration with colleagues and management.

Physical Requirements:

This role may involve working in an office setting as well as inspecting aircraft and maintenance activities, which may require physical activities such as climbing, lifting, and bending. The employee must be able to exert up to 30 lbs. of force occasionally and maintain a professional demeanor under pressure. Travel and overtime may be necessary.
