Position Overview

The Head of Hotel Maintenance Operations is tasked with overseeing the effective functioning, upkeep, and repair of all hotel facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and manage the Preventative Maintenance program in alignment with MCR standards.
  • Conduct evaluations and inspections of the work performed by staff and external contractors.
  • Address maintenance requests from guest rooms promptly and efficiently.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of operational manuals and warranty agreements for all equipment.
  • Respond to alarms swiftly to ascertain the source and urgency, reporting findings to relevant parties.
  • Monitor energy usage and actively pursue initiatives for energy conservation.
  • Ensure compliance with health codes for pool and spa areas.
  • Establish and enforce a key control system.
  • Adhere to MCR standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Train and oversee the Engineering team, coordinating work schedules effectively.
  • React to emergency situations utilizing information from Material Safety Data Sheets.
  • Keep Material Safety Data Sheets updated and accessible.
  • Coordinate inspections of fire safety systems to uphold safety standards.
  • Engage with guests and staff in a courteous and service-oriented manner.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and act quickly in emergencies.
  • Effective reasoning skills.
  • Basic maintenance skills are essential.
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Proficient in Windows operating systems and standard office software.
  • Ability to communicate information clearly and effectively.
  • Commitment to providing excellent service to all guests.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical, Trade, or Vocational school degree.
  • Licensure in a relevant trade (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.) is preferred.
  • Two years of relevant work experience.
  • Ability to carry necessary equipment for job tasks.
  • Experience in hospitality or a related field.
