Position Summary

The Senior Risk Management Analyst will focus on forecasting portfolio performance and charge-offs. Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing portfolio performance through empirical metrics and collaborating with quantitative models to produce precise loss forecasts that align with management's objectives for maintaining adequate loss reserves in accordance with CECL regulations.
  • Coordinating the creation and development of internal datasets for vendor CECL loss forecasting models, which involves retrieving, organizing, and cleansing data from various sources.
  • Providing management with insights into model performance, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of quantitative methodologies, and making recommendations for CECL-based reserve amounts while identifying suitable Qualitative Adjustment factors.
  • Preparing and maintaining documentation for vendor model calibration efforts, executing and overseeing controls related to CECL reserve generation, and responding to inquiries from reviewers and regulators, including conducting necessary quantitative analyses.
  • Delivering comprehensive analysis and rationale for monthly CECL loss forecasts segmented by various categories to executive management.
Qualifications

Education:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Quantitative Analysis, Statistics, Business Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field is required.

Experience:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated experience in credit analysis utilizing SAS, Python, or similar analytical tools is required. Experience in managing credit card or consumer credit portfolios is preferred.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Proven experience in fraud investigations and credit risk management is essential.
  • Familiarity with credit bureau data and systems is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in banking or lending is preferred.
  • Experience with compliance audits and internal audits is beneficial.
  • Expertise in loan portfolio delinquency and charge-off analysis, particularly within a CECL framework.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems.
  • Proven track record as an effective troubleshooter.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Excellent organizational capabilities.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and assimilate information in a manner consistent with essential job functions.
