This role involves close collaboration with leadership to foster relationships with municipalities, governmental bodies, and federal agencies, aiming to identify and pursue new project opportunities.

The successful candidate will oversee project management from initiation to completion, ensuring that all phases are executed effectively.


Your Contributions

  • Collaborate with Senior Engineers and Engineering Managers to support hydraulics and hydrology initiatives across the region.
  • Engage with an established team on projects that encompass the development of hydrologic and hydraulic models, flood hazard mitigation assessments, risk data evaluations, and GIS analyses.
  • Coordinate project teams and subcontractors to guarantee the safe, cost-effective, and timely delivery of projects that meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Supervise the formulation of project budgets, timelines, and reporting.
  • Serve as a technical resource for the successful execution of complex projects.
  • Participate in technical discussions and knowledge sharing with team members.
  • Mentor junior staff to prepare them for increased responsibilities.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure seamless project workflows and high-quality engineering services.
  • Actively seek to expand the client base in both public and private sectors.
  • Contribute to proposal development efforts.
  • Conduct site visits and client meetings to gather firsthand information and monitor project performance.
  • Travel to project sites as necessary and participate in relevant public meetings.
  • Potentially support additional engineering disciplines such as transportation, drainage, stream restoration, and floodplain management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Utah.
  • Certification as a Floodplain Manager (CFM) is preferred.
  • 7-10+ years of experience in hydrology, hydraulics, and water resources, ideally with familiarity in FEMA Risk MAP.
  • Proficient technical skills in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and related software (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ArcGIS, FEMA Risk Map Guidelines and Standards).
  • Strong understanding of the FEMA National Flood Insurance Program and its community-level implementation.
  • Ability to develop and maintain client relationships in both public and private sectors.
  • Willingness to travel primarily within the region.
  • Experience in other water-related fields such as stormwater or wastewater may also be beneficial.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Experience in project management and/or business development.
  • Must pass a background check and maintain a satisfactory driving record in accordance with company policy.
