Position Summary

The Campaign Management Analyst II plays a vital role within the Analytics and Data Science team, contributing to all lending operations at Merrick Bank. This role is responsible for developing and overseeing analytical frameworks in collaboration with leadership to enhance loan acquisition strategies. The Analyst II will design, assess, report, and present marketing tests related to acquisitions and will serve as a subject matter expert. Additionally, this position will focus on the development, enhancement, and maintenance of acquisition data resources, files, reports, and business intelligence tools. Management of internal data, including flat files, SAS datasets, and relational SQL tables pertinent to credit card originations, is also a key responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and refine existing credit card product terms, including:
    • Reviewing historical tests and suggesting new experiments to optimize product terms and marketing materials.
    • Monitoring market trends and recommending adjustments to offerings to align with competitive standards.
    • Acting as a subject matter expert for acquisition strategies, providing insights to management on test structuring, communicating results to non-technical stakeholders, and advising on strategy enhancements.
    • Maintaining and updating data files related to credit card originations (ETL processes).
    • Developing and sustaining business intelligence applications, collaborating with management to enhance the quality and utility of insights.
  • Employ various statistical methodologies to analyze credit card customer performance and devise strategies that optimize the risk/reward balance.
  • Provide analytical support for all new account acquisition initiatives and channels.
  • Coordinate the creation, upkeep, and management of marketing reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Research and analyze consumer, competitor, and economic market trends to guide new product development and testing strategies.
  • Compile and maintain comprehensive performance reports for all campaigns and strategies aimed at acquiring new credit card accounts, summarizing campaign objectives, results, and recommendations for future strategies to management.
  • Oversee strategy documentation and implementation audits in collaboration with other departments and external vendors.
  • Assist the modeling team in periodic modeling initiatives.
Compliance Responsibilities
  • Ensure adherence to all internal control policies and procedures established by the Bank.
  • Understand and comply with all applicable laws and regulations governing the Bank's operations.
  • Report any operational issues, compliance failures, or illegal activities.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, finance, statistics, computer science, economics, engineering, or a related discipline is required.
  • A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in data analysis and manipulation, with a focus on statistical methods.
  • Three (3) years of experience in credit card acquisition or a related field is highly desirable.
Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience in optimizing financial products, including identifying and eliminating underperforming segments while enhancing high-performing ones.
  • Ability to effectively communicate the financial advantages of strategic changes to senior leadership.
  • Experience in credit card new account acquisition and/or modeling is preferred.
  • Proficiency in analytical software such as R, Shiny, SAS, SQL, and related data mining tools.
  • Familiarity with financial modeling techniques to assess various outcomes of product modifications.
  • Demonstrated success in increasing credit card originations through strategic initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of credit card financial dynamics and the ability to optimize product offerings.
  • Strong grasp of marketing strategies and creative content to enhance response rates.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis processes and credit bureau databases is preferred.
  • Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision and support fellow analysts as needed.
