CV Resources, a leading organization in the non-profit sector, is in search of a seasoned Controller to spearhead their Accounting Division. This pivotal role encompasses the management of daily financial functions, ensuring adherence to accounting standards, and leading a team dedicated to maintaining the organization's fiscal integrity. While this position offers the possibility of remote work following an initial training phase, candidates must reside in the designated area.

Supervision:

  • Reports directly to the VP of Finance.
  • Oversees the Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist and Accounts Receivable Specialist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and supervise accounting operations to guarantee compliance with established accounting principles and internal controls.
  • Manage core accounting tasks, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial assessments.
  • Lead financial audits, prepare necessary schedules, and update internal control procedures.
  • Review and manage financial reporting obligations, including tax submissions and grant documentation.
  • Provide strategic guidance and support to the VP of Finance regarding financial issues and policy modifications.
  • Facilitate training, development, and performance evaluations for accounting personnel.
  • Maintain administrative records and ensure timely completion of necessary organizational documents.
  • Assist in financial forecasting, planning, and strategic advisory as required.
  • Perform additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned.

  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the capacity to convey information clearly and engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Attention to Detail: Commitment to accurate data management and thorough documentation practices.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A Master's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred. CPA or CMA certification is advantageous.
  • Experience: A minimum of eight years in financial and general accounting roles, with experience in the non-profit sector. At least five years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with accounting software (Abila/MIP/Sage Software preferred).
