As a Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the organization’s financial operations, including accounting, reconciliations, and the preparation of financial statements. You will collaborate closely with the CFO, external CPA, financial institutions, and insurance agencies. Your role will also involve managing work in progress reports, year-end tax obligations, quarterly financial assessments, and tracking project profitability.

Key Responsibilities:


• Drive innovation in the design and construction processes to uncover financial growth opportunities.


• Collaborate with the accounting team on daily operations, auditing transactions related to the general ledger, receivables, payables, job costing, and payroll.


• Maintain and conduct thorough reviews of Work in Progress reporting and revenue recognition.


• Extract and analyze data from accounting software to generate detailed and relevant reports.


• Prepare and process financial statements in partnership with external stakeholders for regulatory compliance, including CPAs, banks, and insurance agencies.


• Oversee and execute month-end closing activities in conjunction with the Accounting Manager.


• Prepare monthly financial statements, including cash flow analysis, financial ratios, and trend evaluations.


• Manage tax strategies, property transactions, and asset oversight.


• Supervise monthly general ledger entries along with account reviews and reconciliations.


• Ensure compliance and establish robust internal controls and policies.


• Collaborate with the CFO, CEO, and COO on the organization’s financial strategy and planning.


• Work alongside the Design and Build teams to implement best practices related to accounting functions.



Qualifications:


• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited institution.


• Over 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably within the construction sector.


• Proven experience in leading a team of accounting professionals.


• Extensive knowledge of accounting software (preferably Viewpoint/Vista/Trimble).


• Familiarity with construction processes concerning project initiation, change orders, billing, and project closeout.


• Service-oriented mindset, committed to delivering exceptional service throughout the organization.


• Strong ability to manage tasks and navigate conflicting priorities and deadlines.


• Capacity to meet daily, weekly, and monthly reporting timelines.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
