Position Summary:

The Engagement Activities Specialist plays a crucial role in developing and managing resident services, focusing on creating and coordinating activities that enhance health, well-being, and social engagement among residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning, scheduling, and execution of programs that offer physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual enrichment for residents.
  • Encourage and invite residents to participate in various activities.
  • Evaluate, plan, and oversee a comprehensive activities program, utilizing team members and volunteers effectively.
  • Participate in all community events, managing logistics from setup to breakdown.
  • Design and implement programs for holidays and special occasions.
  • Oversee holiday decorations throughout the community.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure necessary equipment and supplies are available for activities and events.
  • Plan and facilitate activities suitable for mixed groups, including assisted living and memory care residents.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled and specialized activities within the Memory Care program.
  • Maintain activity areas in a clean and organized manner.
  • Manage inventory of activity supplies, games, and craft materials.
  • As needed, care for any animals or plants involved in the activities program.
  • Prepare and organize a calendar of events for resident activities, submitting it for approval.
  • Distribute community newsletters.
  • Meet with new residents to introduce them to the activities program.
  • Support the Director in leading wellness initiatives.
  • Organize and supervise volunteer staff.
  • Address resident groups on topics of shared interest.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports on resident participation and satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school is preferred.
  • One to three years of experience in assisted living, long-term care, or exposure to the senior population is preferred.
