The Student Recruitment Specialist plays a pivotal role in the outreach and engagement of prospective students for Oklahoma State University. This position is dedicated to strategizing, executing, and assessing initiatives aimed at attracting potential students for enrollment. The specialist will identify key demographics and support the development of a comprehensive marketing and recruitment strategy, guiding students through the admission process and representing the university in various settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide prospective students through the decision-making process regarding college selection, application, and enrollment. Provide detailed information about educational and career pathways, as well as available support resources.
- Oversee the communication strategy for prospective students, addressing inquiries through various channels including phone, email, and digital platforms.
- Engage in recruitment activities by visiting high schools and career centers, attending college fairs, and participating in community events to promote the university.
- Design and deliver tailored presentations to diverse audiences, covering topics related to the university and higher education.
- Ensure accurate data management of prospective student information to enhance relationship management and improve applicant conversion rates.
- Build and maintain relationships with high school and career center staff, community organizations, and other stakeholders, serving as a primary contact for designated institutions.
- Lead recruitment efforts for specific demographics, including at-risk populations and concurrent high school students, and contribute to initiatives such as podcasts and social media events.
- Assist in organizing events and activities that attract prospective students and other relevant groups to the campus.
- Coordinate the planning and execution of personalized and group campus visits and tours.
- Collaborate with various campus departments to create, implement, and evaluate activities that support a cohesive marketing and recruitment approach.
- Contribute to the development of promotional materials and manage content across digital platforms.
- Represent the university in community and professional organizations as needed.
- Support the Admissions Office by evaluating incoming documents and processing applications, as well as assisting with frontline operations.
- Train and supervise student workers and volunteers as necessary.
- Participate in university-wide retention initiatives relevant to this role.
- Engage in departmental process improvement efforts, including the creation of procedural documentation and performance metrics.
- Complete all required training and participate in professional development opportunities annually.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
