Position Overview

Peraton is in search of a Configuration Management Engineer (CME) to support our Department of Defense clientele. This role is integral to our dynamic and skilled team, focusing on documentation and software configuration management along with quality assurance for a cloud-based infrastructure system that delivers multiple services to various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulates, executes, and sustains a comprehensive Configuration Management (CM) strategy, which includes procedures and delineates responsibilities, authorities, and approval levels.
  • Manages the program's Contract Deliverable Requirements List (CDRLs) and oversees the quarterly delivery of CDRLs to the government client, ensuring thorough quality and technical reviews for each submission.
    • Collaborates with CDRL managers to ensure CDRLs are current and compliant with contractual obligations.
    • CDRLs encompass documents such as the Program Management Plan (PMP), System Sustainment Plan (SSP), Configuration Management Plan (CMP), and various technical data packages.
  • Administers software CM tools to maintain the program's CM repository, facilitating configuration identification, control, reporting, and the delivery of both internally developed and commercially available products.
    • Identifies and applies industry best practices to effectively manage the established CM repository.
    • Responsible for training team members in the utilization of CM tools.
  • Proposes and implements procedures to verify the accuracy of configuration items, adherence to CM processes, and the identification of process shortcomings.
    • Monitors compliance with standards and oversees change and release management.
  • Maintains the program's process assets library, which includes all process definitions, templates, and document samples.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains quality assurance (QA) protocols, establishing responsibilities, authorities, and approval levels, while documenting findings and coordinating corrective actions with relevant stakeholders.
  • Conducts process and product evaluations (audits) to ensure adherence to established policies, processes, and applicable standards.
  • Engages in various technical and administrative activities related to QA, including checklist development, report writing, and facilitating root cause analyses.
  • Participates in program Request For Change (RFC) and Change Control Board (CCB) meetings to address baseline modifications.
Qualifications:

Required:
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI or SCI eligibility.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical, management, or related discipline with 8+ years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 6+ years of experience in a configuration management capacity. Four years of equivalent experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree.
  • Proficient in maintaining and utilizing configuration management tools.
  • Experience in managing and tracking code versions across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Ability to collaborate with management, developers, and external personnel to ensure timely review processes and completion of required artifacts.
Desired:
  • CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools, including Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience working within teams utilizing SAFe Agile methodologies.
