KBR is in search of a dedicated Configuration Management Specialist to contribute to the NRO's SIGINT Directorate. This role is pivotal in addressing the evolving challenges in intelligence collection through innovative strategies. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of mission requirements to navigate the complexities of current systems and facilitate transformative changes in operational methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the management of configuration baselines by leading configuration control boards, engineering review boards, and technical review boards.
  • Implement stringent control procedures to accurately document baseline configurations and manage the processes for architectural and procedural modifications.
  • Prepare and submit deviations, waivers, and requests for change (RFCs) for government approval when specifications are not achievable.
  • Coordinate and secure approval for development contractor and SETA contractor CDRLs.
  • May be responsible for structuring and maintaining databases.
  • Present engineering changes to clients for evaluation and approval; maintain comprehensive records and provide status reports.
  • Develop configuration verification audit record sheets for all programs.
  • Collaborate with government clients to establish review schedules and timelines.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong technical and analytical skills in systems engineering with a focus on baseline control.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Familiarity with the JSMART tool suite.
  • 3-5 years of experience in space systems acquisition and/or sustainment.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of collaborating with diverse teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in an engineering discipline or systems engineering.
  • 5-10 years of experience in space systems acquisition and/or sustainment.
  • Knowledge of best practices in acquisition and operations technology.
  • Experience with system design trade processes, including assessing design options, analyzing mission requirements, and monitoring vehicle development and testing.
  • Specific expertise in NRO space and ground systems and their operational processes.
