Peraton is in search of a Configuration Management Engineer (CME) to contribute to our initiatives supporting the Department of Defense. This position involves working with a skilled and dedicated team to oversee documentation and software configuration management, ensuring quality assurance for a cloud-based infrastructure system that delivers multiple services to various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulates, executes, and sustains a comprehensive Configuration Management (CM) strategy, including the development of procedures and the establishment of roles and approval levels.
- Manages the program's Contract Deliverable Requirements List (CDRLs) and oversees the quarterly delivery of CDRLs to the government, ensuring thorough quality and technical reviews are conducted for each item.
- Collaborates with CDRL managers to confirm that CDRLs are accurately updated and maintained in compliance with contractual obligations.
- CDRLs encompass a variety of documents, including but not limited to: Program Management Plan (PMP), System Sustainment Plan (SSP), Configuration Management Plan (CMP), Data Accession List (DAL), Technical Data Package, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Architecture Description Documents (ADDs), and System Description Documents (SDSs).
- Administers software CM tools for the program's CM repository, facilitating configuration identification, control, reporting, and the delivery of both internally developed and commercially available products.
- Identifies and applies industry best practices to maintain the established CM repository.
- Responsible for training team members in the effective use of CM tools.
- Proposes and implements procedures to verify the accuracy of configuration items, adherence to CM processes, and the identification of process deficiencies.
- Monitors compliance with standards, as well as the implementation of changes and releases.
- Maintains the program's process assets library, which includes all process definitions, templates, and document samples.
- Develops, implements, and maintains comprehensive quality assurance (QA) procedures, establishing responsibilities, authorities, and approval levels. Documents findings and coordinates corrective actions with internal stakeholders.
- Conducts evaluations (audits) of processes and products to ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and applicable standards.
- Engages in various technical and administrative tasks related to QA functions, including checklist development, report writing, facilitating root cause analyses, and delivering internal/external presentations.
- Participates in program Request For Change (RFC) and Change Control Board (CCB) meetings to address changes in baseline.
Required:
- Possesses an active Top Secret clearance with SCI or SCI eligibility.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical, management, or related field with 8+ years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 6+ years of experience in a configuration management-related role. Four (4) years of equivalent experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree.
- Experience in maintaining and utilizing configuration management tools.
- Proficient in managing and tracking code versions across development, testing, and production environments.
- Ability to collaborate with management, developers, and external personnel to ensure timely reviews and completion of required artifacts in accordance with policy and procedure.
- Holds a CompTIA Security+ certification or an equivalent credential.
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Experience working within a team employing SAFe Agile methodologies.
