Position Overview

Peraton is looking for a Configuration Management Engineer (CME) to support our Department of Defense initiatives. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity and quality of a cloud-based infrastructure system that delivers various services to diverse stakeholders. As part of a dedicated and skilled team, you will play a vital role in achieving mission success for our space system clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive Configuration Management (CM) strategy, including procedural guidelines and the assignment of responsibilities and authority.
  • Oversee the program's Contract Deliverable Requirements List (CDRLs), ensuring timely delivery and quality assurance through rigorous technical reviews.
    • Collaborate with CDRL managers to confirm that all CDRLs are current and compliant with contractual obligations.
    • CDRLs encompass essential documents such as the Program Management Plan (PMP), System Sustainment Plan (SSP), and various technical data packages.
  • Manage software CM tools to facilitate the program's CM repository, ensuring effective configuration identification, control, and reporting.
    • Implement industry best practices for tracking and maintaining the CM repository.
    • Provide training for team members on the effective use of CM tools.
  • Recommend and enforce procedures to verify the accuracy of configuration items and adherence to CM processes, identifying any deficiencies.
    • Monitor compliance with standards and oversee change and release management.
  • Maintain a library of program process assets, including process definitions and document templates.
  • Establish and uphold quality assurance (QA) protocols, documenting findings and coordinating corrective actions with relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct audits and evaluations to ensure compliance with established policies and standards.
  • Engage in various technical and administrative QA activities, including checklist development and report generation.
  • Participate in program Request For Change (RFC) and Change Control Board (CCB) meetings to manage baseline changes.
Qualifications:

Required:
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI or SCI eligibility.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or management field with 8+ years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 6+ years of experience. Equivalent experience may substitute for education.
  • Proficiency in maintaining and utilizing configuration management tools.
  • Experience in managing code versions across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with management, developers, and external teams to ensure timely completion and archiving of required artifacts.
Desired:
  • CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience working within SAFe Agile methodologies.
