Job Summary

As a key member of the Houston Independent School District's Summative Assessment department, the Assessment Program Coordinator will play a critical role in leading the district's summative assessment program, including STAAR, TELPAS, and College assessment programs. This position will support campuses in their implementation of assessment requirements, organize assessment program supports, create and implement training for assessments, and respond to incidents and test security with the highest level of integrity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the district's strategic direction for the Summative Assessment department
  • Create and lead training for each of the assessment programs, including on-demand support for campuses during assessment windows
  • Collaborate with other department staff to ensure alignment with the student assessment strategy and program district-wide
  • Communicate effectively with the Texas Education Agency and HISD department staff
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 3+ years' experience with Texas public school district summative assessment programs, including state and national assessments
  • Proficiency in HISD Connect, Microsoft Office, and TEA's vendor platform
Working Conditions

This position is normally performed in a typical interior work environment with no hazardous or unpleasant elements. Ability to carry and/or lift less than 15 pounds.
