Job Overview

The Lactalis American Group is seeking a dedicated Production Supervisor to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our cheese production operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate the production team's activities during assigned shifts.
  • Manage team dynamics: recruit, train, evaluate, and support team development.
  • Lead by example: assign tasks, foster accountability, set objectives, and communicate effectively.
  • Assess training requirements and assist in establishing training schedules.
  • Maintain communication with line management regarding production status.
  • Implement established standards related to costs and budgets.
  • Analyze production data to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Monitor production parameters and initiate corrective measures as necessary.
  • Suggest technical and organizational enhancements to management.
  • Participate in trials involving machinery, products, and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety.
  • Engage in the assessment of workplace hazards.
  • Adhere to and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Comply with food safety regulations and standards.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the FSSC22000 certification.
  • Collaborate closely with the Quality team to ensure product quality and specifications are consistently met.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Dairy Science, Chemistry, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in cheese production or the food industry.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or management role.
  • A stable and reliable work history is essential.
  • Possession of a Wisconsin Cheesemaker's License or the ability to obtain one is required.

They should demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while adhering to regulations. A calm demeanor under pressure, along with a commitment to high professional standards, integrity, and responsibility, is essential.
