Job Summary

Lactalis American Group is seeking a skilled Production Operator to join our team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and continuous operation of our cheese making production functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet efficiency budget levels while maintaining a high quality product
  • Remove and load trays/molds
  • Stage bascular with appropriate cookie sheets
  • Complete repetition tasks, ensuring the even spread of curd into appropriate molds
  • Pull cheese onto draining room tables from chariots
  • Ensure all whey pipes are properly hooked up
  • Turn cheese in draining rooms
  • Run machines (e.g. stacker(s), unmolder, rack washer)
  • Place racks on unmolding conveyor
  • Weigh cheese
  • Complete paperwork as assigned, accurately and legibly
  • Maintain open lines of communication with all line workers and room supervisors
  • Perform sanitation duties as assigned
  • Keep work areas clean and organized
  • Report production problems and/or concerns to the on-duty supervisor
  • Attend departmental meetings and training as assigned by the supervisor and/or manager
  • Apply safety rules and ensure they are implemented and followed
  • Apply Good Manufacturing Practices Standards
  • Perform other work duties as assigned
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED) is preferred
  • Previous employment in a food industry setting is preferred
  • Stable and dependable work history is required
  • Basic mathematical skills are required (must be able to calculate averages)
  • Ability to work in a food industry or manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Manual dexterity
  • Vision abilities (close, distance, color, and ability to focus)
  • Push/pull/lift and carry at least 30 pounds continuously and 50 pounds occasionally
  • Stand for entire shifts
  • Perform repetitive movements (e.g. twisting, gripping, lifting, bending, reaching)

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of $23.15/hour + $2.50/hour shift differential, dependent upon skills and experience. Weekend premium is 20% more. Lactalis offers very competitive pay, benefits, and paid time off. Hours: 10:00 PM to 6:15 AM.
