Key Responsibilities

Curing team members will be tasked with:

  • Ensuring production functions operate smoothly and efficiently while adhering to all Safety and Quality/Food safety protocols.
  • Meeting efficiency budget levels while maintaining a high-quality product.
  • Transporting cheese between curing rooms.
  • Turning cheese within the curing environments.
  • Engaging in the extrusion and wedge processing.
  • Accurately weighing and downgrading cheese.
  • Completing assigned paperwork in a clear and accurate manner.
  • Maintaining open communication with all line personnel and management.
  • Performing sanitation duties as designated.
  • Keeping the work area organized and clean.
  • Reporting any curing issues or concerns to management.
  • Implementing and adhering to safety regulations.

Candidate Qualifications

Successful candidates will possess the following attributes and skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Dependability and tactfulness.
  • Good manual dexterity and vision capabilities (close, distance, color, and focus).
  • Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry at least 30 pounds continuously and 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Capacity to stand for the entire shift and perform repetitive movements (e.g., twisting, gripping, lifting, bending, reaching).

Education and Experience

Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is preferred.

Experience: Previous experience in a food industry setting is advantageous. A stable and reliable work history is essential.

Specialized Knowledge: Basic mathematical skills are necessary (ability to calculate averages).

Skills and Abilities: Candidates must be able to stand for the entire shift and perform repetitive movements, as well as possess strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Compensation and Benefits

Sign-On Bonus: A $2,000* Hiring Bonus is available for new hires in hourly positions. *Bonus is a gross amount; $1,000 will be paid after 90 days of active employment, with an additional $1,000 after 180 days. Temporary, part-time, and certain rehired employees are not eligible. Attendance and performance rules apply.

Pay: Starting at $21.05/hr or more based on skills and experience, with a Weekend Premium of 20% more (+$4.21/hr). Lactalis offers competitive pay, benefits, and paid time off.

Work Hours: 5:45 AM to 1:45 PM.
