Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure production efficiency while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Transfer cheese between curing rooms as necessary.
  • Rotate cheese within curing environments.
  • Participate in the extrusion and wedge processing stages.
  • Accurately weigh and classify cheese products.
  • Complete assigned paperwork in a clear and accurate manner.
  • Maintain effective communication with all team members and supervisors.
  • Perform assigned sanitation tasks to uphold cleanliness.
  • Keep the work area organized and tidy.
  • Report any issues or concerns regarding curing processes to management.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance.

Candidate Requirements

Successful candidates will demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Dependability and tact in interpersonal interactions.
  • Good manual dexterity and visual acuity (close, distance, color, and focus).
  • Ability to lift and carry at least 30 pounds continuously and 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Capacity to stand for the entire shift and perform repetitive motions (e.g., twisting, gripping, lifting, bending, reaching).

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.

Experience: Previous experience in a food production environment is advantageous.

Specialized Knowledge: Basic mathematical skills are essential (ability to calculate averages).

Skills/Abilities: Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job, including standing for long periods and lifting as required.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and open to new ideas. They should possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while adhering to regulations. A sense of responsibility, integrity, and professionalism is essential.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package, including a starting pay of $21.05/hr or more based on skills and experience, with a weekend premium of 20% additional pay. Lactalis also provides a $2,000 hiring bonus for new hourly employees, with specific payout conditions. Our benefits package includes comprehensive health coverage and paid time off.

Work Schedule

The position requires availability for 1st shift hours, specifically from 5:45 AM to 1:45 PM.
