We will not discriminate against applicants with regard to any legally-recognized basis including, but not limited to: veteran status, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, marital status, sexual orientation, and physical or mental disabilities.From your EXPERTISE to oursKey responsibilities for this position include:Assist the team to meet required production in terms of quantity, cost, deadlines, and quality to ensure a secure manufacturing environment.Responsible for leading Production Operators, Machine Operators, and Cheesemakers.Support and organize the work of the production team on designated shift.Lead confidently by delegating, instilling a sense of responsibility, set targets, communicate instructions, and listen.Gauge training needs and participate in proposing training timelines.Record and analyze production data with the ability to determine negative or positive net effect and implement corrective action plans if needed.Think innovatively to propose technical and organization improvements to line management.Apply safety rules and ensure they are implemented and followed, as well as being observant of potential risk to occupational hazards.Ensure all food safety laws, rules and regulations are followed per Good Manufacturing Practices and FSSC22000 system and take necessary measures if there is deviation from this policy.Work closely with Quality to ensure the quality and specifications of product are continually being met.Comply with all Lactalis Policies and Procedures along with upholding all rules pertaining to confidentiality of information regarding Lactalis products, recipes and employee informationRequirementsEducation: High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED) is preferredQualifications: Must possess a Wisconsin Cheesemaker s License or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.Experience: 2 years
experience in dairy production and/or food industry preferred. Production management, collective line management, non-line management, environmental safety management, and office/computer systemsKnowledge of: Knowledge of production equipment, processes, quality, food safety, and health and safety.Skills/Abilities: Strong communication skills Time management skills Proficient inter-personal skills and social awareness to effectively interact with all departments Team oriented Problem solving Strong attention to detail and accuracy Manual dexterity Vision abilities (close, distance color and ability to focus) Push/pull/lift and carry at least 30 pounds continuously and 50 pounds occasionally, Stand for entire shift Perform repetitive movements (e.g. twisting, gripping, lifting, bending, reaching) The ideal candidate will be proactive and dynamic, flexible and receptive to new ideas, down to earth and pragmatic, analytical and attentive to detail. He or she will also be capable of working independently in adherence to regulations, of managing stress and remaining calm under pressure, and be able to demonstrate an inquiring mind and well-developed observational skills. Will demonstrate a sense of responsibility and high professional standards, honesty and integrity, and objectivity.
