Oversee product inspection and rework processes, and handle employee scheduling for 1st, 2nd, and potentially 3rd shifts. Collaborate with shift management to organize employee training, manage PTO/time off requests, and coordinate with teams to identify and address work orders. Additionally, you will be responsible for updating documentation related to packaging, safety, and quality to maintain operational efficiency and compliance.From your EXPERTISE to oursKey responsibilities for this position include:
Assists the department manager to enhance the technical and financial performance of the department. 
Directs adjustments of the manufacturing processes to maintain conformance with standards, specifications and customer requirements. 
Helps ensure compliance with workplace and government-mandated standards (FDA, USDA, OSHA, etc.)
Responsible for maintaining all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and all regulatory requirements. 
Responsible for various reports including, but not limited to, production volume, yields, quality, productivity, and efficiency
Collaborate with shift management to organize and conduct employee training, manage paid time off (PTO) and time off requests 
Maintaining and updating pack tool and product schedules, ensuring staff, and estimating worker hour requirements to complete daily job assignments.
Reach out to the relevant departments (like production, or dry warehouse) to confirm the availability of products and materials
Oversee the product inspection and rework process to ensure quality standards are met, including coordinating with quality control teams, addressing inspection findings, and implementing corrective actions to resolve any identified issues
Coordinate with teams to identify and prioritize work orders
May be responsible for reviewing and approving the time records of all staff assigned. The employee will be required to explain variances in hours worked, productivity, and any other function responsible. 
Work with all departments to ensure proper adherence to GMP, GSP, FSSC practices, QC policies and procedures, and equipment maintenance 
Cooperates with other management to establish and communicate company policies, operating procedures, and goals
Executes quality assurance programs to prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products.
In the absence of the Manufacturing Manager, they must be familiar with and ready to perform their duties
Oversee updates to documentation related to packaging, safety, and quality
Ensures effective employee relations by supporting and maintaining a safe and positive work environment. 
Analyzes and assists in resolving work and/or employee issues through problem-resolution
Alerts manager when there is a deviation from food safety policies and standards 
Applies Good Manufacturing Practices to contribute to the maintenance of the FSSC 22000 standard
Prevents contamination of ingredients, non-finished and finished goods, and equipment
High-level attention to hygiene and product quality to meet customers' needs and satisfaction
Travel and / or extended or off-work hours may be requiredRequirementsFrom your STORY to oursQualified applicants will contribute the following:Education/Experience
Bachelor s degree in Diary Science/ Chemistry or science related field preferred
2 Years experience in dairy production and/or food industry, food packaging, and or distribution
4 Years experience in a management/ supervisory role
Stable and dependable work history is requiredSpecialized Knowledge
Packaging equipment and processes, quality, food safety and health and safely
OSHA, Food Safety, FDA and USDA
Process management, collective line management, line and non-line management, computer/office systems
Knowledge of ISO and certifications within the food industry (FSSC, ISO 9001)
Computers and Systems (Microsoft Word, manufacturing operating systems, SAPSkills/Abilities
Effective and proficient communicator, written and verbal
Business acumen to include problem-solving and analysis
Able to manage time through efficient planning and organizing of daily production to include delegation of dutiesThe ideal candidate will be proactive and dynamic, flexible and receptive to new ideas, down to earth and pragmatic, analytical and attentive to detail. Capable of working independently in adherence to regulations, of managing stress and remaining calm under pressure, and be able to demonstrate an inquiring mind and well-developed observational skills.
