Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our team at Sanitas Medical Center. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive experience for all.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Welcomes and greets patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner, determining the purpose of their visit and directing them to the appropriate person or department.
  2. Works closely with other staff members to ensure patients receive a satisfactory service, understanding and supporting the Sanitas Care Model to minimize wait times in the lobby.
  3. Assists patients with answering concerns and works with the Office Manager to resolve patient inquiries, completing daily pre-visit planning to confirm patients' scheduled appointments are eligible and all demographics are accurate.
  4. Updates registration forms and informs patients of necessary information to be presented at the time of visit, collecting co-pays and outstanding balances at the time of appointment.
  5. Compiles and records medical charts, reports, and correspondence, interviewing patients to complete insurance and privacy forms, and receiving insurance co-pay payments and posting amounts paid to patient accounts.
  6. Schedules and confirms patient appointments, check-ups, and physician referrals, answering telephones and directing calls to the appropriate staff.
  7. Protects patient confidentiality, ensuring protected health information is secured by not leaving PHI in plain sight and logging off the computer before leaving it unattended.
  8. Assists with daily patient flow in areas as needed, verifying patient identity by reading patient identification, and maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
  9. Communicates observations of patients' status to the Manager and/or nurse-in-charge, responsible for ordering medical supplies according to department needs, and able to rotate weekends, holidays, and shifts and center location according to company needs.
  10. Participates in staff and department meetings, sharing acquired knowledge and learning, and consistently reporting for duty on time, keeping patients' information private and limiting conversation of a personal nature in patients' presence.
  11. Checks medical records and follows up on obtaining missing results prior to patients' appointments, performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
  1. High School Graduate or equivalent
  2. Basic Computer Skills
  3. Customer Service skills and training
  4. 1+ years of experience in the medical field
  5. Bilingual English/Spanish
  6. Any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described, including related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. 3+ years of experience in customer service and the medical field
  2. Relevant or any other job-related vocational coursework
