Position Overview

CSS Industrial Group of Companies is at the forefront of providing advanced technology and exceptional service to wind turbine operators across the nation and globally.

We are currently in search of a certified Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) Technician with a specialization in blade repair. This role involves extensive travel to various job sites, offering an opportunity to enhance your skills alongside some of the industry's leading professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Management: Oversee your team by conducting daily safety briefings, formulating action plans, and ensuring all safety documentation is completed prior to commencing work.
  • Client Liaison: Communicate with clients regarding repair status, estimated completion timelines, and necessary safety documentation.
  • Repair Oversight: Take charge of CAT 1-5 repairs and execute composite fiberglass blade repairs.
  • Training: Mentor Level 1 and 2 Technicians on CAT 1-5 repairs and rigging procedures.
  • Safety Assurance: Ensure the well-being of your team members.
  • Documentation: Prepare essential documentation, including jobsite safety analyses, timesheets, and daily reports.
  • Daily Operations: Address any immediate tasks that may arise.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections and document internal and external blade damage, preparing all necessary paperwork for engineering review.
  • Perform coating and minor structural repairs on blade surfaces, adhering to engineering guidelines.
  • Utilize blade access platforms at heights exceeding 300 feet.
  • Assist in site preparation, coordinating labor and materials with minimal oversight.
  • Document all activities using mobile service reporting protocols.
  • Maintain communication regarding site status with engineering, clients, and management.
  • Provide LOTO support for wind turbine generators.
Qualifications
  • Must possess NAM BLADE TECH (LOTO) Certification from GE.
  • Supervisory or management experience is essential, ideally within the wind energy sector.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in blade inspections, rigging, and repair processes.
  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent; preference for candidates with Renewable Energy education.
  • Proficient in rigging suspended platforms.
  • Willingness to obtain necessary qualifications, including Arc Flash/NFPA70E, Confined Space & Rescue, GWO BST and ART, OSHA 10, LOTO, and Respirator Fit Testing.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems effectively.
  • Approachable and empathetic demeanor.
  • Strong delegation skills.
  • Successful candidates must pass a background check and possess a valid driver's license.
Working Conditions

The role involves physically demanding tasks, including bending, crouching, and handling heavy loads. Technicians will work at heights, in noisy environments, and confined spaces, under various weather conditions, often requiring long hours.

Compensation
  • Hourly pay ranges from $32 to $40, depending on experience.
  • Daily per diem of $140 during active employment.
  • Transportation to and from job sites will be provided.
