Senior Manager, Renewable Energy Development

Job Summary:

RWE Clean Energy, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager to lead the development of utility-scale solar, wind, and energy storage projects in the US and Canada. As a key member of our project development team, you will be responsible for initiating, developing, and acquiring projects that align with our company's strategy in North America.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a portfolio of utility-scale solar, wind, and energy storage projects from greenfielding to start of construction
  • Manage large cross-functional project teams as project lead
  • Oversee more junior Development Managers/Associates leading individual projects
  • Collaborate with commercial and technical teams to identify best project locations and key drivers for project financial attractiveness
  • Manage the full project lifecycle, including site due diligence, land control agreements, environmental and permitting, interconnection, engineering, and pre-construction
  • Drive project competitiveness optimization through technical, commercial, and financial levers
  • Lead due diligence of project acquisitions in collaboration with RWE's M&A team
  • Prepare management presentations and drive internal approval processes
  • Manage project budgets, objectives, schedules, and deliverables for assigned development projects

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business/economics, environmental science, or relevant fields
  • Minimum of 6 years of work experience applicable to renewable energy infrastructure, including experience in developing wind, solar, or battery storage projects in the US
  • Exceptional project management skills
  • Ability to guide, mentor, and develop more junior colleagues
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
