RWE Clean Energy, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Project Development Manager to lead the development of utility-scale solar, wind, and energy storage projects in the US and Canada.

The successful candidate will be responsible for initiating, developing, and acquiring projects, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver renewable energy projects in alignment with RWE's strategy in North America.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing a portfolio of utility-scale solar, wind, and energy storage projects from greenfielding to start of construction
  • Managing large cross-functional project teams and more junior Development Managers/Associates
  • Understanding key drivers for project financial attractiveness and identifying best locations in collaboration with RWE's commercial and technical teams
  • Managing the full project lifecycle, including site due diligence, securing land control agreements, environmental and permitting, interconnection, engineering & pre-construction, energy yield, tax abatements, power marketing, and tax equity financing
  • Driving project competitiveness optimization via technical, commercial, and financial levers
  • Leading due diligence of project acquisitions in collaboration with RWE's M&A team
  • Preparing management presentations and driving internal approval processes
  • Managing project budgets, objectives, schedules, and deliverables for assigned development projects

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM, business/economics, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience applicable to renewable energy infrastructure, including experience in developing energy infrastructure projects in the US
  • Proven track record of developing large energy projects across the development lifecycle
  • Strong knowledge in key areas, including energy markets, prospecting, real estate development, interconnection, permitting, environmental, project engineering, and construction management
  • Exceptional project management skills
  • Ability to guide, mentor, and develop more junior colleagues
  • Ability to travel 25-50%
