Position Overview

CSS Industrial Group of Companies is at the forefront of providing cutting-edge technology and exceptional service to wind turbine operators across the nation and globally.

We are seeking a dedicated and certified LOTO Technician with NAM Blade Tech certification to oversee field teams. This role demands extensive travel throughout the USA and is primarily project-based, typically seasonal in nature.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Management: Supervise your team by conducting daily safety briefings, developing action plans, and ensuring all safety documentation is completed before work commences.
  • Client Liaison: Communicate with clients regarding repair statuses, expected completion timelines, and necessary safety documentation.
  • Repair Oversight: Responsible for CAT 1-5 repairs and executing composite fiberglass blade repairs.
  • Training: Mentor Level 1 and 2 Technicians on CAT 1-5 repairs and the rigging process.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure the well-being of your team members.
  • Documentation: Prepare essential documents such as jobsite safety hazard analyses, timesheets, and daily reports, including blade repair records.
  • Daily Operations: Address any day-to-day tasks that may arise.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Inspect and document internal and external blade damage, compiling all necessary paperwork for engineering review.
  • Perform coating and minor structural repairs on blade surfaces, adhering to engineering guidelines.
  • Utilize access platforms at heights exceeding 300 feet.
  • Assist in site preparation, coordinating labor and materials with minimal oversight.
  • Document all work performed using mobile service reporting procedures.
  • Communicate site status updates to engineering, clients, and management.
  • Provide LOTO (Lock Out & Tag Out) support for wind turbine generators.
Qualifications
  • Must possess NAM BLADE TECH (LOTO) Certification from GE.
  • Supervisory or management experience is essential, preferably within the wind energy sector.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in blade inspections, working with suspended platforms, rigging, and blade repair processes.
  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent; preference for candidates with Renewable Energy education.
  • Proficient in rigging suspended platforms.
  • Willingness to obtain additional qualifications, including Arc Flash/NFPA70E, Confined Space & Rescue, GWO BST and ART, OSHA 10, LOTO, and Respirator Fit Testing.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems effectively.
  • Approachable and empathetic demeanor.
  • Strong delegation skills.
  • Successful candidates must pass a background check and possess a valid driver's license.
Working Conditions

The work environment is physically demanding, requiring bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods, as well as handling heavy loads. Technicians will work at heights, in noisy environments, and in confined spaces. The role requires adaptability to various weather conditions and may involve long hours, including weekends.

Compensation
  • Hourly pay ranges from $32 to $40, depending on experience.
  • Daily per diem of $140 during active employment.
  • Transportation to and from job sites within the USA will be provided.
