Position Summary:
We are in search of experienced Level 3 Technicians to oversee field teams. This role demands extensive travel throughout the United States and is project-oriented, typically seasonal in nature.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Management: Supervise your team by conducting daily safety briefings, developing daily action plans, and ensuring all safety documentation is completed prior to commencing work. Manage tools and material inventory effectively.
  • Client Liaison: Communicate with clients regarding repair status, estimated completion timelines, safety documentation, and timesheet management.
  • Repair Oversight: Accountable for CAT 1-5 repairs and executing composite fiberglass blade repairs.
  • Training Responsibilities: Mentor Level 1 and 2 Technicians on CAT 1-5 repairs and the rigging process.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of your team members.
  • Documentation: Prepare necessary documentation such as jobsite safety hazard analyses, timesheets, and daily reports, including blade repair documentation.
  • Daily Operations: Address any day-to-day tasks that may arise.

Additional Duties:
  • Conduct inspections and document internal and external blade damage, compiling all necessary paperwork for engineering review.
  • Perform coating and minor structural repairs on blade surfaces, including tip and edge repairs, adhering to engineering guidelines.
  • Utilize blade access platforms at heights exceeding 300 feet.
  • Assist in site preparation, coordinating labor and materials with minimal oversight.
  • Document all activities using mobile service reporting procedures.
  • Maintain communication regarding site status with engineering, clients, and management.
  • Provide Lock Out & Tag Out (LOTO) support for wind turbine generators.

Qualifications:
  • Proven supervisory or management experience, ideally within the wind energy sector.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in blade inspections, working with suspended platforms, rigging, and blade repair techniques.
  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent; preference for candidates with Renewable Energy education.
  • Proficient in rigging suspended platforms.
  • Willingness to obtain necessary certifications, including Arc Flash/NFPA70E, Confined Space & Rescue, GWO BST and ART, OSHA 10, LOTO, and Respirator Fit Testing.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems creatively.
  • Approachable demeanor with a strong sense of empathy.
  • Effective delegation skills.
  • Successful candidates must pass a background check and possess a valid driver's license.

Working Conditions:
This role involves physically demanding tasks, including bending, crouching, kneeling, and lifting heavy loads. Technicians will work at heights, in noisy environments, and confined spaces, under various weather conditions, often requiring long hours during weekdays and weekends.

Compensation:
  • Hourly pay ranges from $32 to $40, depending on experience.
  • Daily per diem of $140 during active employment.
  • Transportation to and from job sites within the United States will be provided.
