SHIFT: C SHIFT - FRIDAY TO SUNDAY AND EVERY OTHER THURSDAY FROM 6:00 AM TO 6:00 PM

REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF PLATING MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING

OVERVIEW:

Under the guidance of the Director of Plating Manufacturing Engineering, the Electroplating Manufacturing Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting both the manufacturing and engineering divisions within the plating sector. This position involves assisting with wafer fabrication production, documenting and reviewing operational processes, and managing the rework of non-conforming wafers. The specialist is responsible for maintaining process controls through Statistical Process Control (SPC), gathering and interpreting data, and suggesting necessary corrective measures. This role is integral to enhancing manufacturing efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide essential support to manufacturing and engineering teams in the plating sector.
  • Facilitate wafer fabrication production to ensure efficient and cost-effective processing.
  • Document and review operational processes, collaborating with engineering to implement effective changes.
  • Manage the rework of non-conforming wafers, ensuring timely completion.
  • Collect and analyze data, recommending corrective actions as necessary.
  • Maintain process controls utilizing SPC, preparing necessary charts and graphs.
  • Assist in troubleshooting equipment and process challenges in the plating area.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives by recommending modifications to procedures.
  • Support the training and certification of operators on various tools and processes.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to qualify new processes and assist in production integration timelines.
  • Respond to inquiries from team members and management.
  • Overtime may be required based on business needs.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate's degree in Electronics, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Technology, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in the semiconductor industry within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of electronics and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to operate various plating tools and wet etch equipment.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor and hard disk drive industry principles and practices.
  • Proficient in MS Office for data analysis and document creation.
  • Ability to utilize SPC for maintaining process controls.
  • Skilled in data collection and analysis using SPC, with the ability to present findings and recommend actions.
  • Capable of troubleshooting various tools to minimize downtime.
  • Strong adherence to safety policies and procedures.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with various stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

The hourly compensation for this full-time role ranges from $25.29, with a bonus target and benefits. Compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, knowledge, skills, education, and experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The Electroplating Manufacturing Specialist operates primarily in an indoor environment on a rotating C shift schedule. The role is situated in a class 100 ESD-sensitive wafer manufacturing facility, requiring the use of a cleanroom suit, including hood, gloves, safety glasses, booties, and mask. The schedule may be adjusted as needed to meet operational demands. Exposure to hazardous materials, chemicals, and noise may occur during the workday. The role involves standing, walking, bending, and fine motor skills, as well as operating a computer and other office equipment.
