Language and Communication Specialist

As a Language and Communication Specialist, you will focus on the evaluation and treatment of communication disorders, providing essential intervention services for students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review student records to gather necessary information for assessments and ensure comprehensive evaluations.
- Administer, score, and interpret specialized assessments related to speech and hearing.
- Diagnose and assess speech and language capabilities in relation to educational needs, completing necessary reports.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and strategies.
- Design and implement tailored plans to address the unique needs and interests of each student.
- Conduct individual and small group interventions focused on speech and language development.
- Evaluate and adjust treatment plans based on student performance and progress.
- Model effective communication strategies in various settings, offering training on language development activities.
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with legal and administrative standards.
- Provide consultation to educational and medical professionals regarding speech and language development.
- Collaborate with classroom educators to integrate communication skills into daily learning activities.
- Exhibit regular and consistent attendance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology is required, with a preference for experience in early childhood education.
Licenses and Certifications:
Must possess a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and a valid license in the state of Michigan.
