  • Location: Remote with required training in California.
  • Employment Type: Temporary (12 months) with potential for permanent placement.
  • Compensation: $65-$70/hr

Qualifications for the Strategic Investment Program Manager:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline is essential. A Master's degree or MBA is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a corporate venture capital (CVC) or venture capital (VC) environment.
  • A robust network within the CVC/VC community, particularly on the West Coast.
  • A proven history of sourcing, evaluating, and securing early-stage investments.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • In-depth knowledge in one or more areas such as CASE (Connected, Automated, Shared, and Electrified) Mobility, Energy, or Climate Technology.
  • Ability to quickly acquire technical knowledge in new sectors.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative abilities.
  • A collaborative mindset with a focus on building relationships.
  • A passion for utilizing innovative technologies to enhance experiences and improve mobility.
  • Proactive and adaptable, thriving in dynamic environments.
  • Preferred experience in corporate development or formal startup investment.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Key Responsibilities of the Strategic Investment Program Manager:

Engage with investors, entrepreneurs, and the innovation ecosystem on the West Coast to identify and propose unique investment opportunities. As a key connector within the venture community, you will monitor emerging industry trends and present opportunities to our organization. Your primary focus will be on sourcing and leading strategic investment initiatives, while also enhancing our network and brand presence in the region.

  • Utilize database tools and personal networks to source relevant deal flow from VC and CVC firms, startups, and related entities.
  • Identify high-potential investment opportunities that align with our strategic objectives.
  • Prepare and present investment proposals to the Ventures team on a weekly basis.
  • Oversee the internal investment process for selected opportunities.
  • Conduct initial due diligence, assessing market potential, technical viability, financial stability, and team capabilities.
  • Serve as the primary liaison and support for portfolio companies.
  • Expand and strengthen your network within the VC/CVC and startup communities.
  • Facilitate internal collaborations with innovative startups as necessary.
  • Possess expertise in multiple technology verticals.
