Medical Staff Director

Job Summary:

As a Medical Staff Director at Christus Health, you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight to the Medical Staff Services department. You will work collaboratively with the Regional Chief Medical Officer and Medical Staff Leaders to develop and implement plans to support the Medical Staff's goals and objectives, ensuring adherence to regulatory and accreditation requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with credentialing specialists to address concerns and document issues related to initial and reappointment applications.
  • Conduct thorough audits of initial and recredentialing applications to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Monitor reappointments to ensure timely completion, adhering to TJC and NCQA standards.
  • In the absence of the Director, provide expertise and work collaboratively with the IT Department on issues related to e-prescribe, 340-B Program, system access for medical staff, and medical record suspension support.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare-related field.
  • CPMSM certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Services is required.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, and other laws and regulations is highly preferred.
  • Five years of comprehensive experience as a Medical Services Professional within a hospital setting.
  • Managerial experience is required.
  • Working knowledge of Medical Staff Credentialing concepts and comprehensive knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements and accreditation standards related to the organized medical staff.
