Position Overview
We are currently seeking a dedicated and dynamic Construction Site Manager to oversee a significant project involving a primarily wooden administrative facility in Machias, Maine. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and a commitment to excellence in construction management.

Key Responsibilities
The Construction Site Manager will be responsible for the overall management of the construction site, ensuring that the project adheres to design specifications, budget constraints, and timelines. Specific duties include:

  • Enforcing health and safety regulations on-site, leading weekly safety meetings, and documenting safety incidents.
  • Collaborating with the project manager to establish and maintain a project schedule, including a 2-3 week look-ahead plan.
  • Coordinating subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely task completion.
  • Leading and mentoring the construction team, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Ensuring quality control across all aspects of the project, maintaining up-to-date construction documents, and documenting changes.
  • Submitting daily reports and timesheets to track project progress.
  • Managing materials and equipment, including field purchasing and delivery documentation.
  • Facilitating regular meetings with subcontractors, owners, architects, and engineers.
  • Maintaining open communication with the project manager and other stakeholders.

Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A degree in construction management, architecture, or engineering is preferred, though equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a construction environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • A willingness to travel for project needs within the region.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of commercial construction practices, including safety regulations and code requirements.
  • Proficiency in using technology and software applications relevant to construction management.
