Position Overview:

As a Customer Service Representative (CSR) at Vallen, you will be stationed at a client site, where your primary responsibility will be to deliver outstanding service to our customers. This involves sourcing products, goods, and materials that align with our high standards of pricing, quality, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct procurement tasks to meet both current and future customer demands for products and materials, ensuring alignment with Vallen's purchasing strategies.
  • Evaluate existing orders to determine necessary actions for timely delivery.
  • Initiate purchase requisitions and vendor orders.
  • Research and recommend vendors and specific items to ensure compliance with quality, pricing, and delivery standards.
  • Oversee the quality and punctuality of supplied products and materials, coordinating returns for damaged goods as necessary.
  • Follow up with vendors regarding purchase order statuses to ensure timely delivery and keep customers informed.
  • Resolve issues with vendors concerning delivery timelines and product quality.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and assigned customers.
  • Investigate and address discrepancies in account payables with suppliers.
  • Identify and document opportunities for customer cost savings.
  • Adhere to Vallen and customer Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Maintain a professional and organized work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; 1+ years of experience in Procurement preferred.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications and capable of learning various ERP and Inventory Management systems.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated organizational and execution skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Eager to learn and grow professionally.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Extended periods of computer use and repetitive keyboarding.
  • Potential exposure to manufacturing environments with varying conditions.
  • Compliance with safety protocols may be required.
  • Overtime may be necessary with little prior notice.
  • Regular communication is essential; the role may require occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities may be necessary for this position.
