Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver expert Weld Engineering support to the Metallurgical & Chemical division, focusing on GTAW, EB, and Laser Welding for components produced at our facilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production leaders, to enhance Laser processes and equipment efficiency.
  • Utilize blueprints, process specifications, and quality protocols to refine and elevate welding-related manufacturing process yields, incorporating advancements in tooling, capital equipment, and process capability through 6-sigma methodologies and statistical process controls.
  • Engage closely with Design Engineering to provide insights on new design initiatives, optimizing equipment use and adhering to standard practices.
  • Oversee engineering tests and experiments aimed at troubleshooting and enhancing processes related to design, materials, or operational methods.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Weld Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in welding processes.
  • Proven expertise in Welding Processes and Equipment.
  • Experience in enhancing welding performance and managing process controls, with knowledge of aerospace materials and tool/fixture design.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with joining processes such as GTAW, Laser, and EB Welding; Brazing experience is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficient in computer applications and general office software.
  • Willingness to adapt work hours for training and development opportunities.
Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is between 77,000 USD and 163,000 USD, reflecting a comprehensive assessment of experience levels. Factors influencing the offer include role responsibilities, candidate experience, education, and essential skills.

Eligible employees may receive a variety of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans, among others. Specific benefits may vary based on the business unit and collective bargaining agreements.
