Job Summary:
The Safety Relief Valve Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, assessment, repair, and testing on safety relief valves. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail to ensure the safe and efficient operation of industrial equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Repair and Test Safety Relief Valves: Perform disassembly, cleaning, inspection, measuring, reassembly, and testing of valves at client locations.
- Communicate Effectively: Provide timely updates to management, coworkers, and customers to ensure timely and successful completion of job responsibilities.
- Complete Calibration and Documentation: Thoroughly complete all calibration and documentation associated with testing and repairs.
- Perform Other Related Duties: Assist with other tasks as assigned by management.
Work Environment:
The Safety Relief Valve Technician will spend most of their time in an industrial environment, observing employees, their progress with assigned work, and interfacing with both employees and client employees. The work environment will require a moderate to high noise level, and the employee will be required to don personal protective equipment while on the job site.
Physical Demands:
- Visual Acuity: The ability to see and read complex documents and diagrams.
- Balance and Coordination: The ability to balance and coordinate physical movements while working in a fast-paced environment.
- Manual Dexterity: The ability to use hands and fingers to perform tasks such as assembly and disassembly of equipment.
- Communication Skills: The ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with coworkers and customers.
- Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to think critically and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Required Education and Experience:
The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED and two to five years of experience in industrial valve repair. Proven ability to demonstrate a high level of ethical behavior, integrity, and trust is essential. Knowledge of Westinghouse processes and procedures and utilization of developed tools to most effectively manage work is also required. The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a working knowledge of Westinghouse and client technical manuals and procedures, pass Westinghouse and client-specific training and qualifications as required, and work overtime, including shift work, weekends, and holidays as needed. Additionally, the candidate must be able to pass all background and screening requirements for the position, including drug and/or alcohol screening.
