iParametrics is seeking a skilled Mechanical Cost Engineer to enhance our esteemed Project Cost Management Team. This role supports a well-established client recognized for their substantial impact on construction projects across various sectors. The Mechanical Cost Engineer will primarily focus on estimating, managing costs, forecasting, and conducting risk assessments for a significant semiconductor manufacturing initiative.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the establishment and upkeep of job cost reports, which include budgets, commitments, forecasts, and contingencies.
  • Monitor expenses categorized by bid package, field order, and specific change types as defined by the project.
  • Maintain project indicators, utilizing visual graphics for clarity.
  • Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure cost proposals are equitable and comply with contractual obligations.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of project cost reports.
  • Analyze design and construction documents to quantify necessary materials for projects.
  • Perform quantity take-offs to verify subcontractor bids and prepare cost authorization documentation.
  • Organize material quantities systematically for project evaluation.
Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related discipline is mandatory.
  • Educational background in construction materials and methodologies is preferred.

Experience:

  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in construction estimating, particularly in industrial or high-tech semiconductor manufacturing projects.

Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams) and general computing.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Prolog, Procore, E-Builder, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Primavera Project Planner (P6).
  • Experience with design software including AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.
  • Training in interpreting design and construction documents, specifications, and survey theory.
  • Exceptional visual observation and interpretation skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities, time management, and effective multitasking.
  • Excellent communication skills, maintaining professionalism in high-pressure environments.
  • Willingness to work extended hours or shifts as necessary to adapt to evolving construction schedules.
Compensation and Benefits:

As a W2 employee of iParametrics, team members are eligible for a range of benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, along with a company-matching 401K plan, subject to plan terms and applicable waiting periods. Compensation for this position is hourly, based on experience, background, and skills.
