Reporting to the Project Cost Manager, the Senior Cost Engineer will be instrumental in overseeing project expenses through activities such as estimating, cost management, forecasting, and risk assessment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and oversee job cost reports, manage budgets, commitments, forecasts, contingencies, and expenditures.
  • Monitor costs by bid package, field order, and specific change categories as outlined by the project.
  • Maintain project indicators, including visual representations.
  • Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to verify cost proposals.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of project cost reports.
  • Analyze design documents, construction plans, and technical manuals to quantify necessary materials for construction.
  • Accurately summarize material quantities.
Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related discipline is essential.
  • Familiarity with construction materials and methodologies is required.

Experience:

  • A minimum of five (5) years in project management, cost management, or cost estimating roles, ideally within general contracting or specialty subcontracting focusing on CSA scopes.
  • Previous experience in industrial and/or semiconductor manufacturing projects is advantageous.

Skills:

  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Experience with project management software (Prolog, Procore, E-Builder, Bluebeam, JDE, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Primavera Project Planner P6).
  • Competent in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks).
  • Training in reading design and construction documents, specifications, survey theory, and techniques.
  • Exceptional organizational, observational, and interpretative skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities.
  • Capacity to adapt to changing construction schedules.
Essential Functions:
  • Combination of standing, walking, and sitting throughout the workday.
  • Ability to climb stairs, lift/carry up to 20 lbs., and perform minimal bending/twisting.
  • Requires mental alertness, precision, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
