Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is seeking a highly skilled Marketing Manager to join our team. As a Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out marketing, outreach, and networking for the Fashion Innovation Center (FIC), including helping to develop and promote New York State's sustainable fashion industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and outreach program for the FIC, working with RPI faculty and staff, FIC Consortium members, and partner organizations.
  • Promote the FIC, its mission and vision, and NYS products and activities in fashion supply chain segments such as fiber-related agriculture, bio materials, fiber processing, finishing, design, and production.
  • Develop messaging and marketing collateral, including informational materials, prototypes, and samples to present to brands and others.
  • Develop FIC website content, including directory content and online displays that showcase materials and makers.
  • Participate in selected trade shows, industry events, and conferences, including development of exhibits as needed.
  • Coordinate celebrity/influencer placements of NYS products to increase visibility for designers.
  • Coordinate New York Capsule Collections for apparel fashion and one for home goods.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Six (6) years' experience working in marketing/sales at the regional or national level.
  • Demonstrable experience in marketing and outreach with effective communication and public speaking.
  • Demonstrated success in writing business/marketing plans and proposals for funding, ideally including from government agencies and charitable organizations.
  • Experience working in a business context meeting industry needs.
  • Experience planning and facilitating meetings and events.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in a related field.
  • Experience with Fortune 500 businesses as well as small and medium sized enterprises.
  • Experience negotiating and managing contract terms and conditions.
  • Textile and/or apparel manufacturing, design, or brand and retail industry experience preferred.
